Opinion - The ZPAP M70 is an updated import new in 2020. This gun is supposed to be better than an NPAP, an old ZPAP, and better than an OPAP. Like the OPAP, it has the correct receiver and trunnion specs to match a military Yugoslavian M70, but also, like the NPAP and old ZPAP, it comes stock with a double stack bolt and double stack mag well. Unlike any of the previous Serbian 7.62x39 imports, however, the barrel is chrome lined. (This is actually ahistorical to the military M70 as they were never chrome lined, but it's instead done as a catering to the American market which is set on the idea of "Hell yeah! Chrome burl baby!")

Opinion - The WASR 10 was a very good option for a "beginner" AK for many years. With today's pricing schemes they're pretty lackluster. The fit and finish of WASRs is their most notorious trademark feature. Some guns have frustrating issues with furniture fitment, canted iron sights and can be magazine picky. However, a WASR that can cycle a magazine without hiccups will run forever. These guns have been proven out time and time again at full auto ranges anywhere between 50 to 60 thousands rounds before critical failure.

So this gun is set up to be the best Serbian 7.62x39 import to date. They haven't been proven out yet, but all of the previous Serbian "M70" imports have passed multiple tests (aside from a batch of NPAPs) with flying colors, and those rifles were less reinforced than this one. On paper this gun is better, and I expect it to be better, but it hasn't finished taking its exams yet.

This doesn't take AK47, AKM, AK74, AK74M, Galil or Chinese AK furniture. It's Yugoslav M70 Spec, make sure whatever parts you buy are YUGO compatible.
+
These are nice in that there is a plethora of accessories available for them, being that they are AKM pattern. The furniture that ships with this is so bad it may crack during your first range trip. Replacing it is a very good idea. Mag fit may be wobbly but once you find a magazine that works well with the gun it will go and go and go.

Buy one.
