Victor Mikhailovich Kalashnikov (Russian: Виктор Михайлович Калашников) was a Russian small arms designer best known for designing the PP-19 Bizon.
History
Victor Kalashnikov is the son of famed firearms designer Mikhail Kalashnikov. He was born on July 16, 1942 and died on March 27, 2018. He graduated from a university in Izhevsk in 1966 where he took a job at the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant working in a products development bureau under the chief designers office where he worked on a series of test to see where the AK-47 stood and what improvements could be added to it. Specifically how stable the rifle was under when firing, how durable the rifle platform was, and the reliability of the weapons system. He later worked on the development of semi auto hunting rifles. He worked in developing parts and components for semi auto rifles, machine guns. His most famous work was the group he lead to create the Bizon and Vityaz submachine guns.
