In this country, for a long time, Tokarev's pistol was produced under the name M57. In the early nineties, the production of a commercial version of the TT9MM model was launched under the 9x19mm cartridge. This pistol was also retrofitted with a safety catch, which was located on the bolt, like most pistols with a self-cocking mechanism, but, unlike the Hungarian and Chinese models, blocked both the bolt and the firing mechanism. In addition, the sear was automatically locked when the magazine was taken out. The balance of the pistol has been improved to improve shooting accuracy. A feature of the Yugoslav TT is also a longer handle that can accommodate more cartridges.

In the former Yugoslavia, the TT pistol is extremely popular, especially the new model Z-10 chambered for 10 mm "auto", with a magazine capacity for eight rounds and a cost of five hundred dollars. However, so far cartridges of this caliber have not been found in the CIS, so the Z-10 pistol is unlikely to be widely available in the near future, although in terms of combat characteristics, it is perhaps the best option. Another reason for his absence may be the fact that in the former Yugoslavia itself, where arms legislation is quite liberal, the Crvena Zastava factory, which produces these pistols, does not have time to ship them to Belgrade arms stores. There, in line to receive a Z-10 pistol with a cannon caliber and cartridges at a price of one and a half dollars, you have to wait several months.
