The trigger mechanism is hammer. The fuse blocks the trigger. Box magazine, two-row, detachable, for 10 rounds. It is possible to equip the magazine, without separating it from the rifle, from the standard clips for the Mosin rifle. Sights are open, consist of a front sight with a front sight and a rear sight, adjustable in range. There is a muzzle brake. The rifle was equipped with a bayonet-knife worn in a sheath on the belt and attached to the rifle only if necessary. The sights of the SVT-38 include a front sight with a round front sight, mounted in the muzzle, and an open rear sight, adjustable in range, fixed in the rear of the barrel.
