Opinion - The RAS 47 is a touted 100% American made rifle. Almost all pieces on the RAS 47 are proprietary. The materials used to build the RAS 47 are not to AKM spec. There are multiple documented cases of this gun having out of battery detonations and other failures. This is due to the horrid casting done for the trunnion, which was designed to be a forged part.

Opinion - The WBP Fox is a solid choice for a present day AK import. I would consider this over an SLR-107r currently, and is the other option alongside the ZPAP M70 for a good import AK. The Beryl rail system is great because it allows you to use whatever set of western optics your heart desires. There are 2 patterns of this rail available on Atlantic Firearms, one is 1913 and the other is a Weaver esq style.

Shoot one, and by that, I mean use it as the target.

These are mostly AKM pattern so they're easy to accessorize. The furniture that ships with this is good.

There is a version of the Fox sold by Arms of America for a cheaper price but it is non-converted meaning it uses a thumbhole stock and can only take single stack mags. The version sold by Atlantic Firearms is pre-converted.
