PSO-SERIES OVERVIEW: All featured variants below are manufactured to meet stringent Russian military specifications and requirements, are nitrogen filled and have fully coated high quality lens systems. Although used in daylight without special consideration they are also equipped with illuminated rangefinding reticle systems which allow effective targeting in low light or total darkness. Illumination units are modern, reliable solid state LED devices that operate on common, inexpensive batteries.
NOTE: All models shown below are available with either SVD or AK (V-suffix) type mounting clamps. Please specify when ordering the type and calibre of rifle you will be utilizing, as well as any other details that may help us ensure you receive the very best service. Many units are equipped with an adjustable eyepiece diopter focus (D-suffix). Standard PSO-1 series models have a fixed or omni-focus design.

PSO 4x24M
Based on the original Soviet PSO-1 sniper rifle scope developed exclusively for the SVD rifle, the PSO 4x24M features a fully coated nitrogen filled lens system providing 4-power magnification and crystal clear, fog-free operation. The Dragunov reticle of the PSO 4x24 features a height based 1000 meter rangefinder of the standard military graduated choke design. During daylight hours, the reticle is black and constantly visible. In low light or darkness it can be illuminated by the user via a weatherized toggle switch. The system is designed around long lasting, low drain solid state LED illuminators which are powered by commonly available watch batteries . Elevation and windage adjustments are easily made via target-style turrets (Range calibration is bullet drop compensated for the 7,62x54R caliber). PSO 4x24M is fully adjustable for a proper rock solid fitment to the side-mounting rails of the Russian SVD & Tigr family, Chinese NDM-86, Romanian PSL/Romak 3/SSG-97, most Vepr rifles, some models of Yugoslavian rifles, as well as many others. PSO 6x24M
PSO 6x24M is a higher powered PSO-1 which provides a very happy medium for users needing additional magnification who prefer not to add additional weight and length, or alter the rifle's original classic profile. It will also deliver superior accuracy when extended ranges are being used, and employs the upgraded dual gradient illuminated rangefinder of the 8x series scopes (see below). It has been a popular choice for those who need a moderate, inexpensive upgrade from the standard scope. Power for low light and nighttime use is provided by common watch batteries, controlled by a weatherized toggle switch assembly..
PSO 6x42
An enlarged exit pupil and objective tube greatly improves the light gathering ability of the PSO in night and low light conditions, which means you will enjoy an improved, brighter field of view using this 42mm scope. Fully coated lenses and nitrogen filled internals are always standard. PSO 6x42 is best fitted to Russian or Chinese SVD, Russian Tigr, or Romanian PSL rifles which can most effectively utilize the increased power and larger objective size.
The military rangefinding reticle is height based with graduated scales for both standing figure and prone figure estimation. It has standard SVD inverted chevron aiming points for 1000, 1100, and 1200 meters, respectively. Metal finish is a handsomely applied, rugged military issue dark gray hammer coating. These use two inexpensive and commonly available US-style "357" coin cell watch batteries in conjunction with a 3v LED illuminator, and have reliable LED illuminators.
PSO 8x42
The best general purpose SVD optic available, this scope combines amazingly clear, fully coated optics with oversized nitrogen filled exit pupil and objective tubes for improved light gathering ability in night and low light conditions. PSO 8x42 features a dual gradient height based military reticle with dual gradient rangefinding calibrated out to 1,000 meters. This scope is perfect for Russian or Chinese SVD, Russian Tigr, or Romanian PSL rifles which can most effectively utilize the increased power and larger objective size.
PSO 8x42D
PSO 8x42D offers all of the features of the above model, pus a special adjustable diopter focus eyepiece which enables the end user to adjust for his own personal vision. It feature a dual gradient height based military illuminated reticle with dual gradient rangefinding calibrated out to 1,000 meters. This scope is perfect for Russian or Chinese SVD, Russian Tigr, or Romanian PSL rifles which can most effectively utilize the increased power and larger objective size.
PSO 4-8x42D
No doubt the most flexible PSO-based optic yet placed into production, the PSO 4-8x42D is adjustable for both eyepiece focus and variable power zoom, which ranges from the standard 4x to a high power 8x capability. This allows the optic to work for a vast number of applications and environments. An illuminated dual gradient range finding military reticle and minute of angle target style turret adjustments allow easy and effective sighting procedures. The latest design allows the use of common watch batteries which maintains the original military appearance without the use of battery adapters. The adjustable eye piece is perfect for shooters who wear glasses, since it allows the user to focus the reticle to match their own vision. Fully coated lenses and nitrogen filled internal cavity provide a crystal clear field of view.
1P21 (PO 3-9x42M)
Originally designed to be the ultimate SVD sniper rifle scope, 1P21 was officially adopted by Soviet/Russian forces for the SVD, and later adapted for PKM machineguns. For those who settle for nothing less than the most advanced optic available from the former Soviet Union, the 3x9x42 PSO (military designation 1P21) is the only choice. Offering 3-9x power zoom and an automatic angle adjustment on it's base according to the range chosen by the user, the "Talon" or MINUTA sight is virtually an automatic version of the original PSO. 1P21 uses the standard night vision based clamp system, which means it will fit all types of AK and SVD side plates, to include Russian Tigr, Chinese NDM-86, Russian Vepr, Izhmash Saiga, Romanian SAR 1-3, Romak 1/2, PSL/Romak3, MPK, MTK, and others.
This sight fits low to the receiver (lower than most PSO models) and provides a wonderful cheek weld on standard military stocks. It also sits slightly offset to the left and therefore may not be suitable for some left handed shooters. Baseline zero of the sight is accomplished by the use of two recessed turret adjusters. Once this is done, the sight uses a single knob adjusting wheel for all three functions of zoom, range estimation, and angle of adjustment of the sight. Once the user zooms in to fit the target into a scale located on the rangefinder, the scope has already estimated the range. Range in hundreds of meters is indicated at the top of the sight reticle. Although based upon the 7,62x54R calibre of weapons, this sight is extremely useful for .308 rifles.

Your new optic is fully adjustable to fit tightly to your rifle. Perform an attachment clamp adjustment to ensure a rock tight fit to any side plate design. In many cases, there are variations in rails, and this is taken into consideration by the design of the mounting clamp. Please study this link and make adjustments as necessary until you have a satisfactory fit to your rifle. In all cases, our Russian scopes and sights are fully adjustable to be perfectly fitted to any European side rails based on the Soviet designs.
